My Business is Off the Ground

OK, first of all, a dad update. He went to see the oncologist and they are now talking months to years instead of just weeks. He starts treatment this week, and I plan on going up to Minnesota to see him after the holidays. (Maybe I can find some good deals and stay a bit longer that way.)

So...on to the new business...

This is Emma and Gracie. (Sorry the photo is so dark.) They are the very first clients for Tri-County Critter Sitters, and how adorable they are. Emma is a Chesapeake Bay Retriever and Gracie is a Beagle. They are the fur babies of Stephanie and Scott Poling. (Met Steph when she joined our writers group a while back.) As soon as I brought out my camera, these two came running up and sat right down like they were posing or something. They are obviously no strangers to having their photo taken.

Emma has a couple favorite chew toys. Here she is with one that looks like a woman's high heel shoe. She carries it around, plays fetch....and takes it outside where she uses it as an excuse not to come back in. (She seems to forget where she puts it and has to run around the yard looking until she finds it.)

And Gracie is just a little bundle of cuteness. Look at those ears. What a doll. Although she does have a sneaky side. She kept trying to jump up on the couch and snuggle up with me. I have since found out they aren't allowed on the upstairs furniture. Yep, sneaky little thing.

Those are some great pics - thanks for posting this! I think you and the pups get along very well and I am so glad you are around to watch them. They are quite amusing, but of course I think that, as they are my babies! I will send your post to my friends and family so get ready for some new readers!!

My hubby thought taking a photos for the files of the pets I sit for would be a great idea. And since I love taking pictures of animals anyway, I just plan on taking a lot. I can give them to the pet owners, and post them here with their permission. And, when I finally get my website up and running, I can have a special page there.

Ah...plans...

I am glad to hear things are going well with both your father and your very own business.Good idea of the photos. When i come home for visits in nc i leave my cat in a place called kitty hill resort here. Each cat has their own little room with a theme(such as beach, country etc.)they even give medications to those on meds. This is only a cat resort but the same can go for any place that pet sits. And here also they have photos of their clients.I wish you the best and when your business grows you also will have workers to help out. MERRY XMAS.

Richard - I would love to be able to have a place like that "resort" here. Actually, my ultimate dream would be to set up a climate controlled building in my yard and take in older or supposedly "unadoptable" cats from the local shelter.
One day maybe...
