Sultry siren Eartha Kitt died on Christmas day at the age of 81. Besides singing the very best version of Santa Baby, she portrayed Catwoman better than anyone before or since.When I was a kid, I'd visit my dad in Minnesota over the summer. During those visits, I'd often sit up late watching reruns of various shows, including Batman. The first time I saw Eartha Kitt as Catwoman, I was absolutely blown away. She was perfect; that purr, that kitty cat growl...absolutely purrfect.
And though Madonna did a decent cover of Santa Baby a few years ago, Eartha's will always remain the best. Enjoy.
