Adopt-A-Shelter-Cat Month

June is National Adopt-A-Shelter-Cat Month, and you all know how I feel about cats. They are wonderful animals full of love and mischief. They make great companions, friends, bed-warmers. They are nothing if not honest and will let you know exactly how they feel about you, your friends and your family. They are full of personality.

So, if you are looking for a great companion, someone who will accept you as you are, then make you into just what they want you to be (just kidding - sort of), then head down to your local shelter and adopt a cat. (For those in my area, I am offering pet sitting discounts if you adopt.)

Now, that's not to say shelter dogs don't still need good homes, and please go to the local shelters if you are looking for a dog as well. (And remember, October is National-Adopt-A-Shelter-Dog Month.)

Nice post, Susan -- I'd love another cat but I think my husband would leave me if I brought one more animal into the mix (six dogs, two cats). But it's good to remind folks of all the love that's waiting for them at the shelters.

Yeah. My husband is beginning to wonder about my sanity I think, with all these cats showing up around here, and me not batting an eye when they do.

Matter of fact, stepped outside tonight and saw another new addition running across the porch. *sigh*

Great post! It's always good to get the word out about adopting shelter animals. I just learned that there is a 3-cat limit in my city so I am out...

Three cat limit?!?! Never heard of such. I reckon it's to avoid the problems associated with "hoarder" and such. Plus, for those who live in apartments and such, more than 3 can cause problems. I'm also guessing it's just for those in the city limits. I just hope that means there are great spay/neuter programs at the local shelters.
