Saying Goodbye Part II

My dad's funeral is this afternoon in St. Paul, Minnesota. I could not be there so have said goodbye in my own way.

Susan, I'm very sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. I'm even sorrier to hear you were not close all those years. Life isn't always fair is it? However in spite of it, you seem to me to haave turned out to be a great person and a real survivor!

Thanks Carol.
Maybe not "in spite," but "because of" instead. :)

Memories float. Up and down. Bad ones get stuck in branches, shatter when its their time. Hold onto the string if they're good ones. Peace.

Blessings, Susan. What a nice idea the balloon was -- and what a beautiful comment Marta left -- a good idea for lots of memories.

Marta - I agree with Vicki about your comment. It was very beautiful. Are you a writer by chance?

Vicki - When my mom died, I remember leaving her hospital room with her purse/belongings and a balloon I had given her from the hospital gift shop. I was parked on the top level of the parking garage, and I stood up there and let her balloon go, watching it float away and disappear. It really helped. That's really what made me release this one for Dad, and I think it helped a bit as well.
